Due to the increasing demand for our service, we have expanded our hours and are currently available for referrals for treatment at our Malvern office, and also via telehealth, and for forensic assessments.
We are all forensic psychologists, and while it is true that many of the young people and families we work with are facing particularly complex issues including problematic behaviours and trauma, not all of our work with young people is necessarily "forensic" in scope - we can support young people who are struggling with every day issues at home and school as well. Feel free to get in touch with us to make an enquiry today by sending an email to [email protected]. We look forward to hearing from you!

Thanks to our growing team of experienced forensic psychologists, we currently have capacity to accept referrals for assessments.
We can conduct assessments in our clinics, via telehealth or via outreach all across Victoria. We travel all over the state to undertake complex and comprehensive assessments on children, young people, parents and families. These assessments inform families, criminal and family courts, police, schools, and care teams. Referral requests come from individuals, solicitors, schools, Child Protection practitioners, the Department of Justice and Community Services, other psychologists, psychiatrists, case managers and more. We are widely known for providing impartial, comprehensive, easy to read and useful reports, and for completing the assessments and report efficiently. We do our best to get the information back to you as quickly as possible while not compromising on best practice. All of our team work therapeutically with adults and young people. We understand what needs to happen to implement therapeutic and case management recommendations. This helps us to prepare reports with actual practical utility. Better still, we avail ourselves to attend care team meetings to discuss our reports and provide verbal feedback about our recommendations. We are not currently accepting new clinic-based referrals at our Carlton office. However, we offer telehealth appointments as well as face to face sessions in Malvern and Boronia and we can conduct outreach visits (travel fees apply). Referral criteria apply, so get in touch with us to discuss the suitability of your referral. We are happy to provide alternative recommendations to you if we are unable to assist.
We are delighted to welcome aboard Forensic Psychologists Dr Nicola Pronk, Dr Brooke Langskaill and Dr Alicia Tanner to the Keystone Psychology team!
Whether it’s in Secure Welfare Services, Parkville, rural Victoria, an office in Melbourne, or somewhere in between, our team are providing expert forensic psychological services for the state’s most vulnerable children, young people and their families. We hope 2022 has started off well for you!
There are some changes afoot at Keystone Psychology! We are welcoming some new staff members on board in 2022 and we look forward to being able to accept more treatment, assessment and consultation/training referrals. At this stage treatment for new clients will be offered via Telehealth only until further notice. Outreach visits for assessment referrals may be arranged on request. Please send us an email with your enquiry to [email protected] outlining the nature of your request with as much detail as possible. Thanks! Tiffany and Julianne Thank goodness the restrictions are easing!
We have been very busy this year, helping many young people and families get their lives back on track. It has been a pleasure to see such positive outcomes, and Telehealth has not slowed things down! Julianne is again offering face to face appointments on a Thursday in Malvern, and continuing to offer telehealth counselling for existing clients. We are currently not taking new treatment referrals, but we retain capacity for assessment referrals. We are able to provide comprehensive mental health and forensic assessment reports including risk assessments, parenting capacity, family and other court reports. These assessments can be conducted via outreach appointments all across metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria, and via telehealth. Please don't hesitate to contact us directly via phone or email, or via the contact page on the website. We look forward to a brighter 2022! The current recommendation from the powers above is still to provide Telehealth appointments where practicable. We are, however, able to provide face-to-face consultations if needed.
More great news - the Government has extended the number of Medicare sessions available under a standard Mental Health Care Plan from 10 to 20 sessions per calendar year!! Hooray!! This really comes as welcome relief for so many people.
This means, for the rest of 2020 you're entitled to 20 sessions, and it will all reset in January 2021 when you'll be eligible for a further 20 sessions with an up to date MHCP. Keep in mind that if you're registered for the Medicare Safety Net, once you spend a certain amount per calendar year, Medicare will give you a higher rebate for the rest of the year once you've reached your threshold. This is very helpful when you're seeing a psychologist regularly as it helps to reduce your out of pocket expenses. This is recalculated at the beginning of the year. You can read more about Medicare Safety Nets here: https://www.servicesaustralia.gov.au/individuals/services/medicare/medicare-safety-nets Great news! The Australian Government will provide 10 additional Medicare subsidised psychological therapy sessions for people subjected to further restrictions in areas impacted by the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Patients will be required to have a Mental Health Treatment Plan and a review with their GP to access the additional sessions. This measure will commence on Friday 7 August and be available until 31 March 2021. We are also still able to conduct face-to-face sessions if Telehealth appointments are not possible or appropriate.
